While freedom is important, we cannot let it expand to the point that it deprives others of their freedom. Since healthcare requires the labor of others, it cannot be your right. Your right to not be arrested for buying a gun however, does not involve others giving you anything.

I would say, after all that, you would be very well educated indeed. All without a single teacher. Homeschool parents are there to do the forcing not the teaching.   Here's the problem. With corrupt people in my system you get rotten pockets. One corrupt person gets into our current system and the whole country goes to crap. His corruption has the power to affect the entire nation. I'll choose the pockets. You may get communities that refuse to educate themselves, but I'd rather let them do that than give the government the power to arrest people that they think aren't teaching their children good enough.

  They have that freedom now, just as much as they would in our hypothetical. By town schools I mean schools funded by community contribution. Even if towns decided to find it through town taxes then it would be better than state schools because in general you can know and ostracize someone from your town, something that is a lot harder state wide.

  The teacher would teach, out of a book, a lesson to the oldest students. Then the oldest students would teach the next youngest students out of their book. Each student has someone to help them understand. Now I'm not arguing that this is necessarily the best system. I'm arguing that it is possible to have other systems that work. But the entire idea of separating students based on age and not ability is part of the Prussian's system.

  My second problem with the Prussian education system lies in the method of teaching itself. In our current schools, student sit in rows facing a teacher. They are dictated by factory bells, and spend more time shuffling from class to class than learning. Before the introduction of this terrible system, students DIDN'T learn that way. The standard for teaching of that time was for a single teacher to manage a class of students not separated by age.

  In today's world you pretty much have to have a highschool level education. Jobs would still require you to prove that you know what you're talking about whether it's through a test like GED or diplomas from whatever private/community school you went to. People wouldn't just ignore education because it's really hard to work without an education.

  Private schools would have their own biases, yes, but since they have to fund themselves, it would require them to cater to the people through competition just like any other business. Private schools are not the only replacement either. We could have town schools, homeschool, tutors, and private schools. There is also nothing to suggest that academic standards would decline.

  City and State Police are lawful and useful. They have a purpose that cannot be properly fulfilled by a private company or individual. Education is different. Education can be done privately and was done privately until socialists brainwashed everyone into sending their kids to indoctrination camps (public schools).
